I am Tara Collazo

living with ALS

Texas

I am human. I am not ALS. I am living with and battling ALS.

I have been diagnosed with ALS. I grieve for my family. I appreciate the I AM ALS organization and all that has been accomplished — thank you. Since you asked about the phrase “I AM ALS,” to be honest, I don’t like to label myself that way. I am human. I am not ALS. I am living with and battling ALS. The ALS label somehow makes me feel like a statistic and not a person. But I support the I AM ALS organization, so thank you again for all that you do to move awareness forward.
