I am Steve Rudolph

a family member in a familial ALS family,
an ALS gene carrier,
living with ALS

Missouri

The saving grace is that I have a very slowly progressing version of the disease. Most people would not know that I have ALS unless they look at the twitching in my biceps.

I was diagnosed with ALS about 2 years ago. I am 63 years old in the prime of life when I found out I have the C9ORF72 (Familial ALS) gene mutation. Ugh. The saving grace is that I have a very slowly progressing version of the disease. Most people would not know that I have ALS unless they look at the twitching in my biceps.

I am a big believer in the CRISPR technology, thinking it will be the go to technology for many diseases with genetic defects. I only hope that the technology will be available in my lifetime.
