I am Michael Melder

living with ALS

Louisiana

My mantra is "Every day may not be good, but there's good in every day. Concentrate on the good."

I was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS in June 2015. My symptoms, Dysarthria, started about a year prior. My progress is slow sill. My FRS-R is 30.

I live alone. My wife left me almost 2 years ago. This disease is hard on everyone. My faith in God gets me through each day. I firmly believe a good attitude is essential to combat this disease.

My mantra is “Every day may not be good, but there’s good in every day. Concentrate on the good.”
