I am Mary Tiknis

living with ALS

New Jersey

I was the caretaker for all of these years. Now I can barely do anything for myself.

I was a nurse for 48 years. I am married and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

I was the caretaker for all of these years. Now I can barely do anything for myself. I cannot drive. I cannot play with my grandchildren or walk my dog. Every day I wake up I thank God for another day with my family and friends.

I feel like I am such a burden to my husband who has his own problems and my children who are trying to bring up their children and live their lives. I pray for a cure every day.
