I am Mary L. Slaughter

someone who cared for a person we've lost to ALS

Texas

This is such a vital mission.

I am the widow of a member of the United States Navy who died with Bulbar ALS and am so grateful for I AM ALS pairing with Paralyzed Veterans of America. They were with us every moment with assistance and helped with connecting with the Veteran’s Administration for my husband’s needs.

I have reached out to my congressman and senator on numerous occasions re: ALS funding and approval of much needed drugs as this is not an orphan disease to the United States military. This is such a vital mission.

Thank you again for fighting through the fog of this war on this disease that affects both young and old.
