Her vivacity, spirit and heart live on in her daughters and all of us who loved her.

One of the happiest days of my life was when I learned that after 6 brothers my mom had finally produced another girl for our family. My sweet, red-headed baby sister was the delight of our family, and the joy of my heart. She was a passionate, hilarious and fierce friend, a wise, caring mother to her 3 daughters and a faithful, loving wife to her husband Matt. Diagnosed with ALS in November 2011, she worked so hard to keep her family’s life as normal as possible. It was my great privilege to be able to move to Raleigh NC in 2012 to be near her and her family – I joined an amazing group of friends and neighbors who loved and cared for her in a thousand ways. She raised money and awareness for ALS in all the ways she could – generously, humbly, and with courage. We sent her to the care of her heavenly Father in July, 2014 and it was too soon. Her vivacity, spirit and heart live on in her daughters and all of us who loved her. She is missed, and the best we can do with our grief is to fight ALS.
