I am John Reed

someone we've lost to ALS

Pennsylvania

Throughout our journey we advocated for ALS showing what our journey was like and helping others through social media.

My husband John was diagnosed in 2013 when symptoms of slurred speech started. John chose to receive a feeding tube in 2014 and a trach in 2015. John, with help of family and friends, because the only thing he could move was his eyes, wanted to live as much as possible and follow his passion with hunting adventures.

When in 2022, John’s eyes started to get extremely weak and he couldn’t use his Tobii communicator any longer, John was ready to give up and go to Heaven. My husband passed on 9/17/2022. Throughout our journey we advocated for ALS showing what our journey was like and helping others through social media. John and I chose the natural approach to keep him comfortable and boost his immune system. The last week of his life when Hospice came in they were amazed at how long John survived this devastating disease.

Thank you,
Beth (John’s loving care wife who misses him terribly)
