In just this 1 year I have lost my ability to talk, walk, eat or take care of myself.
I am a 72 year old Viet Nam Veteran. I am a husband, father of 6, grandfather of 10 and a great grandfather (in 2 weeks). I was diagnosed with ALS one year ago this past June. I started slurring in February of 2020 and was diagnosed 4 months later.
In just this 1 year I have lost my ability to talk, walk, eat or take care of myself. My wife is my caregiver and my love. By the way, she is typing this for me as I can’t. ALS has robbed me (us) of so much life that we have been looking forward to. How I pray for the trial drugs to be released for us living with ALS to use if we choose.
