In memory of Hovald Marshall Jensen

someone we've lost to ALS

Montana

He was a passionate environmentalist and taught us so much about community and working together.

My father had recently retired and pursued his life long dream of retiring in beautiful Montana. He was a smoke jumper during WW2 and fell in love with the beauty of the state. He finally realized his dream, bought a house in Hamilton Montana and loved hiking and traveling to Glacier Park, having reunions with former smoke jumpers until he started having weakness in one of his legs.

He was a passionate environmentalist and taught us so much about community and working together. He lived 2 years after the diagnosis- his doctor told him he may as well sit on his porch and drink lemonade as there was nothing to be done. We, his 3 daughters and one son were devastated, even more so after we found out it is familial.
