I am Dean Roberson

an ALS gene carrier,
living with ALS

Washington

As of 7 Nov 2022, I am still walking, not very fast nor very far. But I am walking.

My Name is Dean Roberson and I am: Diagnosed with Familial ALS, a Father of 8 Children, Married to the Love of My Life, #5 member of my family to have ALS, Retired Veteran, Business Owner, NRA Firearms Instructor, Hunter’s Ed Instructor. Devout Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

I am blessed and grateful to have lived such an awesome life. I grew up very poor in the small rural town of Falkville, Alabama. Raise on a farm, where we grew what we needed. Graduated in 1982, served 29 years in the military, worked for 6 in our family business and retired again. Started ALS symptoms in July of 2020. As of 7 Nov 2022, I am still walking, not very fast nor very far. But I am walking. I have two awesome ALS Centers of Excellence in Spokane, WA, one is the Veterans Administration Hospital, and the other in St Luke’s Rehab Hospital.

I am honored to live in such a wonderful country, where we have some of the very best medical help available to mankind.
