About the Program:
Caregivers undergo changing dynamics and burnout when caring for a loved one. It’s important for others to maintain a more understanding and loving perspective so that they can cope effectively.
Please join us on Thursday, October 6 from 12-1 p.m. (CT) for this month’s ALS Learning Series, “Navigating the Challenges of Caregiving for People Living with ALS.” Anne Lidsky Ph.D., Foundation Support Group Facilitator, will discuss healthy and helpful coping skills that are so important while living with the challenges of ALS. She will talk about how needs change as the disease progresses, and at the same time, recognize our ability and strength to adjust to a New Normal. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
The Les Turner ALS Foundation is proud to offer this webinar at no cost to the ALS community. Thank you to Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America and Cytokinetics for sponsoring this webinar.
About the Speaker: Dr. Anne Lidsky is a licensed clinical psychologist from Northwestern University. She has been with the Les Turner ALS Foundation for more than 40 years. Anne founded the first support groups offered by the Foundation in 1981 and has been facilitating these groups since their inception. In July 2021, Anne created the Caregiver-Only support groups, giving the opportunity to loved ones of people living with ALS to express their own needs, fears, and frustrations. Participants now have a voice in their own support groups, and they have expressed deep appreciation for this crucial experience.
