ALS – the disease that ravaged my brother’s body and eventually took his life. This is a picture of us at Christmas 2014, 5 years into his 9 year battle. Remarkably my brother’s spirit remained bright, despite being burdened. I cared for my brother throughout his ALS journey, and intensely as his primary care person for the last two years of his life. I understand intimately the burden of the disease to him and our family. ALS is now my cause, and I work hard to support the cause and the families impacted. I am a Speech Study volunteer with I AM ALS and support other organizations like ALS TDI, HARK ALS, Team Gleason and a few others. I will always and forever be an ALS advocate because it changed me too.
