Leonard Parker was my Dad. 💞 He was 50ish when diagnosed and I was 20ish. I am now 67 and have lost 2 friends to this terrible illness. One, Vaughn, 2 weeks ago, the other, Rocco, 2-3 years ago. Vaughn in less than a year, maybe 6 months. Rocco was 2-3 years.
My dad, whose story I know best, suffered over 13 years. I would drive him from Stuart, Fl. to Boca Raton, Fl. where he would receive injections of snake venom and embryo of unborn lamb. I think this gave him more time. The last 2-3 years were in a nursing home when my mom could no longer transfer him.
