I am Bill DeMay

living with ALS

Florida

For me, of course, the disease is difficult. But harder yet is seeing the impact on my family.

I was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. Fortunately, my progression is slow compared to many people I’ve met with ALS. For me, of course, the disease is difficult. But harder yet is seeing the impact on my family. It is very difficult to see your wife of 48 years grieve. It hurts me to see her hurt. I’m 70 and my biggest hope is being one of those people with ALS who survives 15 years or more. My wife really hopes that she will pass first in order to not see me die.
