I am Elizabeth Wooten

a family member in a familial ALS family,
caring for someone living with ALS,
someone who cared for a person we've lost to ALS

North Carolina

When your family is affected by ALS everything becomes "before" and "after".

My husband, Robin Wooten, was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS in the summer of 2016 he was 49 years old. He died July 21, 2017. My daughter, Olivia Whitford Wooten (pictured in this photo with her Dad) was diagnosed the same week as her father 6 years later at the age of 31. She has recently moved in with me and I am again caregiving. My youngest daughter Carrington is disease free but she and her husband have decided not to have children.

When your family is affected by ALS everything becomes “before” and “after”. ALS is the dividing line of life. We’ve given ALS too much power for far too long. We need a cure. Families deserve a cure.
