I am William Scott Daly

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

New York

Shortly before Memorial weekend 1989 my dad was diagnosed with ALS.

Shortly before Memorial weekend 1989 my dad was diagnosed with ALS. The following August he passed away. He & I were both agents for Nationwide Insurance company, and to honor his 45 years of service I was asked to chair a charity golf tournament to benefit the ALS agency which help him and our family through his journey with the disease. This year we are celebrating our 33rd year and to date we have raised $2.7 million for the St Peter’s ALS Regional Center.

Upon retiring from insurance I was hired by the ALS Center to do their advocacy work and sit on various research webinars. Since 2014, I have become an ALS RESEARCH AMBASSADOR, joined the PEACe Committee and attended several ALSA LOBBY DAYS. Besides my charity golf tournament, I man an advocacy & awareness table at various charity events held by the ALS Center. On a personal note, I have been living with HIV for 38 years due to having access to life saving meds. Because of that I feel an obligation to give back to a disease that currently has no life saving meds. Till there’s a cure!!!
