I am Tim Lunsford

living with ALS

Kentucky

I don’t regret serving my country, but I do regret being exposed to dangerous chemicals that have negatively impacted my life and my family’s future.

I served my country honorably for more than 20 years…sacrificing time away from my family on overseas deployments. In the course of my military service, I was exposed to contaminated water while stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Consequently I have been diagnosed with bulbar ALS. I have lost my ability to speak, and probably won’t live to see my grandchildren graduate from high school. My wife and I have been married for 46 years, and had hoped to enjoy many years of retirement together with our family. This time will be shortened due to my ALS diagnosis. I don’t regret serving my country, but I do regret being exposed to dangerous chemicals that have negatively impacted my life and my family’s future.
