I am William Murray

a friend of someone we've lost to ALS

Washington

As he battled the disease to the very end, watching and cheering for the Dodgers on his big screen TV buoyed his spirits and brought others together to be with him.

My friend Brian who passed away from ALS on Dec. 2nd, 2021 loved the Dodgers, and passed that love of them on to his son, Miles. As he battled the disease to the very end, watching and cheering for the Dodgers on his big screen TV buoyed his spirits and brought others together to be with him.

They couldn’t get past the Braves in this past post-season, the last time Brian got to watch them in the playoffs. He took it in stride…l ike he took his struggle with the debilitations of ALS. He had more guts, determination, chispa and enthusiasm for life and living than anyone I know.

I called Brian “Pops.” A nickname he shared with the great Willie Stargell. They were both indomitable spirits, were kind and generous, and had a great sense of humor. But my friend Brian, unlike that other “Pops” from Pittsburgh, always bled Dodger Blue.
