In memory of Shirley Baca

someone we've lost to ALS

California

Our family is big and loud, and Nana was our sun.

Shirley Baca, my Nana, was the heart beat of our family. Her laugh was beautiful and contagious. She never passed judgment, but she always let you know how she felt. Her loves were her family, sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. Our family is big and loud, and Nana was our sun. She loved her Denver Broncos and having a cold Bud light while watching her games.

ALS robbed us of her laugh and her voice. She suffered. For as opinionated as she was she could no longer speak her mind. Her body failed her, but her mind was forever sharp. Shirley fought for life until the very end. ALS took Nana from us in Aug of 2021. Our lives have a huge hole, but we are grateful that Nana is no longer suffering. No one deserves to live or die this way.
