I am Gary Kurtis

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

Pennsylvania

He passed suddenly and it was such a shock and a huge void. Since that time I made a commitment to do all I can to ensure that others don't have to experience a similar fate.

My dad lost a relatively short battle with ALS Sept 11, 2002 the one year anniversary of 9/11. Living in Florida it was a long struggle just to get him the required medical attention to confirm a diagnosis and then get needed treatment. He passed suddenly and it was such a shock and a huge void. Since that time I made a commitment to do all I can to ensure that others don’t have to experience a similar fate. ALS is the cruelest disease of them all and doesn’t get the needed funding and attention to reflect the typical expected remaining time. All ALS patients need help NOW!
