I am Denise Allen

a family member of someone we've lost to ALS

Oregon

She was a fighter, and I swore to keep fighting for her and for others affected by ALS.

My wife and I met in 1997, started dating in 2003, and were married in the church in June 2004. My three children walked us down the aisle. Mary was diagnosed with respiratory onset ALS in December 2013. It shattered our world. She was trached and vented in February 2015, diagnosed with FTD in June 2015, and died October 31, 2015. She was a fighter, and I swore to keep fighting for her and for others affected by ALS. She has a grandchild she didn’t get to watch grow up, and another she never got to meet.
