As director of navigation at I AM ALS, Aditi developed a person-centered navigation program and tools that will empower patients, caregivers and their families with relevant medical and research information, support them emotionally, connect them with practical resources and help them build a community around them. Prior to joining I AM ALS, Aditi served as the director of programs & strategy at LIVESTRONG, where she managed a suite of national supportive care programs benefiting cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Aditi’s international experience living in India and Singapore has shaped her drive to address social injustice across the globe, starting with the human right to quality health care. Aditi earned a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Communication from George Mason University.

As CEO of I AM ALS, Danielle provides strategic leadership and management to this patient-led, patient-centric community that is reshaping public understanding of this disease, providing key resources to the community, and creating opportunities for patients to lead the fight against ALS and search for cures.

Danielle was the vice president of the Biden Cancer Initiative, where she led organizational, program, policy, and partnership development. With more than six years in the White House, Danielle leveraged her technical scientific expertise to develop programs and policies to make progress on Obama Administration goals in partnership with federal agencies and the private, academic and philanthropic sectors. She was entrusted with leadership roles for President Obama and Vice President Biden on some of their signature initiatives and events, most notably the White House Cancer Moonshot, White House Science Fairs, College Opportunity Days of Action, Computer Science for All and diversity in STEM initiatives. She was integral in developing the framing and goals for the Cancer Moonshot, managed the team executing those goals, project-led multiple White House Science Fairs and the White House Cancer Moonshot Summit, and contributed to signature reports and recommendation implementation from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

Danielle earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Georgetown University and B.S. in Biochemistry at Boston College.

As digital lead organizer at I AM ALS, Kathleen develops online tools and methods that empower and activate those living with ALS and their communities to lead in the fight against ALS. She provides strategic communications and engagement guidance in order to drive engagement and reach all stakeholders, from those most acutely affected by an ALS diagnosis to the general public. Prior to I AM ALS, Kathleen brought disparate communities together through her work as a community and social impact lead at WeWork. She also built strategic communications plans for the Marine Corps while at Booz Allen Hamilton and worked to build bridges between government and private entities to modernize their bases and stations.

As community lead organizer at I AM ALS, Michael creates and manages programs and committees that engage, educate, recruit and empower those affected by an ALS diagnosis to serve as a team of advocates who can organize, empower and activate their respective communities. Prior to I AM ALS, Michael was the director of LGBTQ health and inclusiveness at Trillium Health in Rochester, NY. At Trillium Health, he developed, implemented and managed programs that educated, empowered and recruited marginalized populations into primary and sexual health care programs.

Michael has a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from George Mason University and has taught courses on HIV, gender, sexuality, race, media and community at Rutgers University, George Mason University, Hampden-Sydney College, and Bowling Green State University.

As nurse navigator at I AM ALS, Rachel is dedicated to helping patients, family members and loved ones affected by ALS by providing resources and emotional support, spreading awareness of ALS and the impact of the disease on the community,  empowering patients and loved ones,  and providing guidance along every step of the ALS journey. Rachel obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and has a background helping patients and family members across the lifespan, from newborns with metabolic disorders to adult and geratric patients with cancer.

Suzanne Anthony

As COO at I AM ALS, Suzanne helps lead the organization’s operations, strategy, and policy work. For the last decade, she supported a number of new organizations to get off the ground and bring innovative ideas to life in the field of education, both internationally and domestically, at Teach For All and Summit Learning. She is excited to bring that experience to I AM ALS to further the patient-led movement against ALS and search for cures. Suzanne earned her a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and her Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Additionally, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jordan and a legislative staffer in the US Senate.

Theresa Garner

Theresa Garner

Director of Communications and Organizing

As director of communications and organizing at I AM ALS, Theresa strategically guides the direction of I AM ALS’ awareness, engagement and advocacy initiatives. She comes to the organization from the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, where she was at the helm of corporate communications for the NFL franchise and global entertainment venue. She was previously a sports journalist for ESPN and the SportsBusiness Journal. She has a communications degree from the University of Central Florida, where she also attained her MBA and a Masters in Sports Business Management.
